US queen of shabby chic style, Rachel Ashwell, has a new book out this October.
The title is a bit of a mouthful - Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic Interiors: My Rooms, Treasures and Trinkets - but I bet it's pretty!
The interiors in question include a Malibu beach house, Rachel's LA residence and a selection of celebrity homes.
Isn't oilcloth brilliant? It's cheap, cheerful, wipeable, and it adds a delicious retro flavour to any kitchen-diner. It comes in a dizzying array of colours and patterns - both 'off the roll' and finished with fabric edging.
This 'sweet' design from Berry Red costs £43 for a large tablecloth, £32 for a small one and it's neatly edged in red.

The Etienne chest from Rose & Grey reminds me of the Bramley from Laura Ashley. It has the same classic French styling - perfect for the more ornate shabby chic interior.

The Fairy Cakes tray, designed by Martin Wiscombe for ECP,looks pleasingly vintage whilst actually being brand new. Great if you like the look, but not the idea, of aged kitchenware.
