Isn't oilcloth brilliant? It's cheap, cheerful, wipeable, and it adds a delicious retro flavour to any kitchen-diner. It comes in a dizzying array of colours and patterns - both 'off the roll' and finished with fabric edging.

The Fairy Cakes tray, designed by Martin Wiscombe for ECP,looks pleasingly vintage whilst actually being brand new. Great if you like the look, but not the idea, of aged kitchenware.

Remember my hunt for the perfect tea caddy? Well, as is so often the way (in my life, at any rate) I became overwhelmed by the choices available and ended up buying nothing.
Well, I'm glad I did! Now I can purchase these vintage style French blue and white tins. The set costs £20. It includes tea, coffee, sugar and flour tins, and is also available in red-and-white.
